Add more information

Professor Rebecca talked with me about my webtext. I thought if my webtext need to add something, it should be how so much study affects college students’ health. Rebecca asked me if I want to say something about family support. She did not really understand about my idea. I explain the meaning of mine.

I thought evaluate my project is a good idea because the more information you provide to your readers, the better for them to know more things. Moreover, I think family support is also a good idea add into my project, because it indeed a problem for some college students. Maybe their family cannot support their too much money, so that they have to earn money by themselves with undertaking so much pressure. That is the reason for them in sub-health condition.

I think that is all what we talk that day.

my project

During do the project of this semester, I learned more about sub-health, no matter on college students or other kinds of group people. Before I choose this project, I just know little about it, but after I am doing this, I know that there is a lot of information about sub-health I do not know. For example, the sub-health condition could lead students’ mental health problem. The environment pollution could affect sub-health condition of college students.

There are three main points of my project. The first part mainly introduce about college students’ bodies, which is really important for them to know about it. The second part mainly talks about how to eat could affect college students in sub-healthy condition, and how to change what they eat to improve their health. The third part introduces about exercise. Why college students have physics problem, and how they could change their sub-health condition through doing exercise.

I will use these three parts to introduce sub-health to college students and let them know about their bodies and do something in advance to improve their health condition to prevent sub-health condition. I also need more sources add to my project in order to provide more information to college students. Such as if the heavy study could affect sub-health to college students? If college students need more caring from family or society in order to help them grow healthy? Concerning the web and the internet become more and more widely, I prefer to search this information on the internet or I could look them in library.

the position of my podcast and slideshow

The topic of my webtext is sub-health of college students. I want to put my podcast after the first paragraph that I just introduce to audience about what is sub-health. First, in my podcast, there is the attract context in the beginning of it, which could attract the audience’s attention to know more about the sub-health of college students. Second, because the context of my podcast is talking about how emotion could affect college students in sub-health condition, which is related to the topic of my webtext so that my audience would like to read the following content of my web page.

The slideshow is different from the podcast, which have picture on it. Slideshow looks more visual so that people maybe have more interesting to see it. I want to put the slideshow after I finish introduce the “Balance of body and a healthy timetable of daily life”. Because, after to see a lot of character, audience may be tired. They maybe don’t want to read any more. At this time give them a slideshow to see, which could relax them on one side, as well could recreate their interesting to see the following context on the other side. The context of my slideshow is talking about how environmental pollution affects college students in sub-healthy condition, which is also an important topic that my audience would like to concern about.

Therefore, it is the reason that why I put my podcast in front of my webtext and put my slideshow in the middle of my webtext.

topic of slideshow



My topic is about college students’ sub-health. Since the slideshow will become part of my multimodal project, I want to introduce about how environment affect college students’ health. The pollution of environment has become more and more serious today. It affects people’s life and health, speciously for the college students because they are in growing physic period. I am going to talk about environmental pollution affect college students’ health in air, water, and food.

First, due to the factory development, air has been damaged and become more and more bad condition. College students breathe this kind of air could affect their health into sub-healthy condition or even much worse. This could affect their growing as well because they are in growing physic period.


Moreover, the water also is affected by the environmental pollution. The wasted material or water is discharged out of the factory into the river or lake directly without filter. College student drink this kind of water could cause illness so that make their bodies in sub-healthy condition.


Food is the last one that could cause college student in sub-healthy condition because the food is made up by the element of the environment. The environment is polluted so that the food is damaged as well. College student eat this kind of food could make their bodies in sub-healthy condition.

Therefore, that is the reason why environment could affect college students’ health in sub-healthy condition. Protect the environment is responsibility for all people in over the world, especially for the college students because they are the future of the world.

Keeping a good mood

In my podcast, I want to talk about another content of my topic, which is keeping a good mood.

There is another way to overcome the sub-health condition for college student is that keeping a good mood. Because in psychology, mood affects the health and mood is an important role in physical health. If students have good moods could affect their study and life directly, so that affects their health indirectly. For example, a student does not have a good mood for some reason, so that he cannot focus his attention on his study, his grade will fall, then his mood will become more and more worse, which will affect his health. Therefore, I will talk about the mood part that affect students’ health in my podcast.

The different between text and podcast are the content, the words and phrases, the examples, etc. Content should be more interested so that students would like to hear it. The words and phrases should be vivid, and it could include some interviews, some short talks between students, professor and students. The example should be easy to understand, like give them more advises how to relax their moods. To sum up, the content of podcast is different between the texts; it needs more colorful and interesting things, just like the difference between book and the movie script.

In podcast, I should use three different ways to persuade my audience, which are ethos, logos, and pathos. These three ways are so significant because using them could make the audiences to believe. Ethos means the information that you introduce to audience should be exactly right, it cannot be wrong. Logos means you should use logic ways to persuade your audience, but not mess, which is not a scientific or effective way. Pathos means in your podcast you should add your emotion but not just read your script without any feeling in it. Therefore, I will use these three ways to write my script of my podcast to persuade my audience and introduce information to them as well.

Revise my first draft

The first draft of my project has a lot of problems. Professor Rebecca revised my first draft and sent it to me with email, which helped me a lot to revise me first draft. The first draft is too simple which does not have the background, pictures, hyperlinks, and the recommended reading. The audiences that I need to focus on. There shouldn’t be the first person in the paper because the paper that uses other resources to write which is not the author’s opinion. I also need to improve my writing skill, like I should use some connected phrases to make my paper smoother. The format should be single space which is the requited by the webpage. The font and the size of my title and sub-title should be over striking and bigger than the size of the context. I should also highlight my thesis statement as well. Therefore, making my paper as much clearly and beautiful as better.

I did not see my peer review in the facebook discussion webpage. Maybe my partner forget to post it. Therefore, I cannot write the peer review part here.

The Food

The food

The resources of this week that found on the internet are mainly talking about healthy food and diet. The first resource is talking about how important eating food affect people’s health and how to eat food could help people keep healthy. The other one is a book which I found it on the Google book. It is mainly introducing about the methods of losing weight, and how to eat to loss weight and also keep it later.

“Eating is one the most important events in everyone’s life…. We know so much about eating: we are born with the desire to eat and grown up with rich traditions of eating. But we also know so little about eating- about how the foods we eat everyday affect our health.” (Eat your way to health and longevity, 2007) As we know before, people’s energy is getting from food that they eat. Therefore, the food what people eating affect people’s bodies absolutely. As a higher educated students, the food what they eat is more important for them because of the heavy schoolwork. They need the nutrition both for their bodies and their brain. Neither of them weak could impact their study grades. Therefore, the students do not only need nutrition; they need various kinds of nutrition which include vegetable, fruit, rice, meet, milk, and gain. Losing weight is becoming a topic of our society. We are living in a rich material society, which could lead the students could eat more than they need or eat something that they do not need actually. A healthy life need a healthy eating habit which does not means “as more as possible”. It means the right amount is the best. “Losting weight, Gaining life, Good carbs and bad carbs. Searching for the right weight-loss plan, a science of success….” (Arthur Agatston, M.D., 2003) are all the ways that this book introduces that students could use to follow and learn to keep health.
